This is known as requirement gathering for your app idea.
Do you know what are the requirements you know for your app?.
You may say a laptop, a cup of coffee, relaxing music, pen and paper, notes, and so on.
Yeah! you are right.
But, it also means getting clarity on every aspect of your app idea from sketching your app idea until launching it into the app store.
I mean you need to understand your app needs before you start building it.
But, this is not possible and eats your time and energy and blows your mind, and makes you mad.
What I am saying is…
“Have an overview of what you are building”.
Have a minimal knowledge of how your app works, how it works, what are features it needs.
such as…
UX/UI design, coding, type of app, users login method, security, storage of files, notifications, hosting, reporting and analysis, screens, and so on…
Don’t rush to build a 100% perfect app at the beginning itself. It’s impossible.
I prefer to choose at least 5 major featured for your app.
Like…
For social networking app…
we have 5 features as…
1)Allowing users to create an account and login.
2)Setting a profile for your app users.
3)Allowing them to upload their content(likes, commenting)
4) Allowing them to follow others.
5) Providing security for their account.
Just imagine that you are learning “how to cook?”.
But your chef is placing every raw material into your cooking pan without explaining what he is doing, what ingredient he is using, and not even what he is going to cook.
Then, tell me “how do you feel?”.
You may run out of that place assuming that the chef is mad (or) you may kick him off.
Why?. Because you don’t know what you are doing.
Hence, it is important to know…
what you are cooking?
what ingredients does it require?
how much quantity is needed?
how to start cooking?
what ingredients should be placed in the pan first?
how much time does it take to cook?
It is very simple. isn’t it?.
But…
It doesn’t matter “how well you have understood it”, your first cooking will always be a “SHIT”.Don’t worry!!!
It happened to me too.
But…
That shit will teach you and me a lot of lessons (precious lessons).
Similarly, apply the same principle to your app to answer the questions which I have showed you before.
You see! gathering requirements for your app is similar to gathering requirements for your cooking.
It’s very simple only when you will take action.
“I will also write blog posts on every question I have asked for your app as soon as possible”.

Grab a pen and paper and answer all the questions in a simple & understanding manner.
Just like your first cooking your first attempt to answer these questions may look like a “SHIT”.
